New American Express cardholders that recently received their new card in the mail can activate their card online at www.americanexpress.com/confirmcard.  The American Express activate card service is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week for cardholders to visit and activate their card before using it to make purchases.

When you visit the activation site (www.americanexpress.com/confirmcard)you will need to enter your 15 digit American Express card number including your 4 digit security code which can be found on the back of your card.  Part of the activation process is registering for an online account which should be a convenience for many cardholders.  

On the American Express Activate Card page users can register for an account by selecting “Don’t have an Online Account?  Start here” link.

The next step is to enter your 15 digit card number and 4 digit card ID.  Next you will need to set up your account preferences which includes creating your login credentials (user ID and password), creating security questions, etc.

After completing the application process and setting up your online account Amex cardholders will be able to access their credit card account 24 hours a day 7 days a week.  

They can also manage their account information while on the go via their mobile devices and smartphones as well.  A shortcut for managing their account on the go is via the American Express mobile app which can be downloaded.

The option to activate your Amex card via telephone is available to cardholders by calling  the American Express card activation phone number at 1-800-362-6033 or simply utilize the online option at www.americanexpress.com/confirmcard.
