Truist bank customers that recently received their new Truist card in the mail can activate using the online service, by phone, or in person.  This guide will give you instructions on how to do all 3 card activation options so you can begin using your new card for purchases.

How to Activate Your Truist Card Online

Enter the following info:

  • Card number
  • Expiration date from card
  • Security code
  • Zip code
  • Social security number
  • Click the gray Activate button

How to Activate Your Truist Card by Phone

Call customer service at the toll free number below and go through the automated prompts for card activation:

How to Activate Your Truist Card In Person

The simple way to activate your Truist Card in person is by visiting your local Truist branch.  Go inside and speak with a bank teller about activating your card.  

How to Register for a Truist Account

After you have activated your new Truist card the next step is to register for an online account so you can manage your debit or credit card transactions online.  Here is how you get started with that:

  • Visit truist.com/activate card homepage
  • Click the Sign In button at the top right of the screen
  • Click the Register Now link

  • Select the type of account you are registering, business or personal.
  • If you are registering a personal account go through the options listed and select the type of card/account you want to register.
  • Click the Continue button

Continue on with the rest of the registration steps until you have created your login credentials and security info.  Visit the truist.com/activate homepage and login to your account.

Forgot User ID Help

If you at some point forget your User ID you can refer to the self help troubleshooting links for assistance.

  • Visit the truist.com/activate
  • Click the Sign In button at the top right of the page
  • Click the Forgot User ID link

If you have a personal bank account select the Personal option and be prepared to enter the following info:

  • Account or card number
  • Last 5 digits of your social security number
  • Zip code
  • Last name
  • Contact info
  • Click the Continue button

Forgot Password Help

If you forgot your password it will need to be reset so refer to the troubleshooting link

  • Visit the truist.com/activate
  • Click the Sign In button at the top right of the page
  • Click the Reset Password link

Enter the following:

  • Email address associated with your account
  • Last 5 digits of your social security number, EIN, or ITIN
  • User ID
  • Click the Continue button
