To support black people in this Black Lives Matter movement the #Myblackreceipt movement was created to encourage everyone to buy from a Black owned business beginning June 19, 2020 until July 4, 2020.
June 19th or Juneteenth is an important date in American history as it was the official day that slavery ended. This is a special date for this country and for black history so in commemoration of that special day the MyBlackReceipt movement is hoping over $5 million dollars are raised over 15 days in support of black business.
MyBlackReceipt.com – How to Participate
To share in this movement and create change this is how you can help including today:
- Visit a black owned business and make a purchase
- Keep your receipt
When the www.myblackreceipt.com website is officially launched on June 19 input your purchase amount and upload your receipt to the website
Your receipt along with the millions of others will be quantified and show the power of the black dollar. As we prove to ourselves how working together can bring about some sustainability within the black community then hopefully the committing to buying from black businesses will continue and foster a strengthening black economy.
